Engagement/Family Pics Spring 2012

Soccer!!

Doesn't he look like such a soccer STAR??? (april fools!!) Don't let the picture fool you.  This picture is our best memory from Julian's first soccer season.  His season isn't actually officially over because technically there is still 2 more Wednesday rainy day make-up games but Julian Curry will not be participating.  If I thought in any way he would be helping out the team by being there, I would make sure he was there.  Let's just say it is obvious to everyone, including coach, that Julian has the athletic ability to play.  It is also very obvious to everyone that he was the youngest one out there and he is not one bit interested in anyone taking his ball away.  He prefers to be in charge.  Julian really improved at practices and his listening skills at the last practice were far improved from the first practice.  See... there are positives to the season I guess.  The only reason I signed him up for soccer, which is one more my least favorite sports, is because I could tell he is so spoiled to getting everything his way. Daddy and I have to throw it perfect or kick it perfectly or he flips out.  I thought maybe if he saw other kiddos all chasing the ball and kicking it around without freaking out he might join in...  NOPE!!  He was always the first one to the ball and he was by far one of the most coordinated and quickest....  all skills of which do not help you when you completely FLIP out every time someone gets in your way or kicks the ball away or bumps into you.  Well anyways we survived (barely!!).  Maybe when he is older, we will try again but for now, SO LONG SOCCER!!!!   

123 days til the big day

Updates since my last blog on December 12th:

1.  In December we went to KC and got to see all the family for Christmas

2.  We had a great midnight Christmas when we returned to Houston on Christmas Eve night and Santa was so great to us when we woke up.

3.  I had my last diet vanilla coke on December 29th

4.  We rang in the new year by waking up about 11:55 to see all the Houston excitement downtown on TV and went back to sleep.

5. My mom and friend Mandy both came to town on Friday January 13th to go dress shopping.  So Saturday January 14th we went to David's Bridal and found the gown that I get to walk down the isle to marry my best friend in a few months!!  So can't wait for it to come in.

6.  We still haven't gotten engagement/family photos taken but we are trying to get that done soon.  Just as soon as the railroad cooperate with us.

7.  Things I have gotten done for the wedding so far:  Venue.. check!  Dress... check! Bridesmaids dresses... check!

8.  Things I am working on next:  talk to Comfort Suites about discounted room rates, buy shoes, get tux rentals set up, get DJ playlist together, order invititations

9.  Julian has started soccer.  He has had one practice and another tomorrow.  His first game in next Saturday and I am so nervous.  I can only imagine how this will go.

10.  Superbowl Sunday (today!):  sitting at home with my boys in my pjs..  perfection!

Birthday #3

We're ENGAGED!!!

 It finally happened!  We are GETTING MARRIED!!!  I am wearing something sparkly on my left hand and I'll admit Jerry pulled off a pretty great surprise!!  I have proof that I had no clue by what I was wearing that day because if I thought something was up I would have dressed better.  Every year his family all gets together at his sister's house.  I meet new people every year.  We had eaten and were just sitting around the living room chatting and he told me that his dad had asked him to "address" the family. Which is totally something his dad do.  So I sat on the couch playing with my early Christmas present (the new iPhone) just waiting for the "Thank you everyone for coming.. I am thankful for you all" speech..  Jerry's little "address" was so heart felt and thoughtful I was so proud of him.  He was really emotional about different members of his family and he even had me teary eyed talking about a couple family members that weren't able to make it this year.  Then he starts talking about Julian (I know whatever he said was great ...  this is just when everything starts to get very blurry).  For a split second, I had the thought... "what if he forgets to mention me!"  HAHA!!  Then I remember him saying, "But there is one person here that ??????????? (man i wish i remembered what he said) Then he said some really sweet things and grabbed my hand to make me stand up off the couch and he was down on one knee with a ring and a question..  My response was..  of course.  I was in shock.. I just kept thinking "did this really just happen?"  I have waited so long and I have thought of every scenario in the book and I couldn't think of a better way.  He really did it when I wasn't expecting it.  It's fun knowing that his whole family was anxiously waiting all night for the "big event" and I was never tipped off by anyone.  I had asked him a long time ago how he was going to know what kind of ring I wanted and he said, don't worry about it I know you will like what I like.  :)  It is a very good thing he has good taste!!  One of his cousins came in the bedroom and asked me to see the ring and I wad like "OH man I haven't even really looked at it yet!!"  I LOVE IT!!  I said all I know is that it is sparkly and it means we get to get married!!  yay!! 

YES I am wearing ALL parts of my ring!!  I saw it and I feel like I waited long enough and I am not leaving sparkle in a box that should be on my finger :)
