Julian Travis Curry

Julian is a name that I love and luckily "i think" his daddy loves it too, Travis was my dad's first name - I think it will be special to have Julian have part of my dad's name, and Curry is pretty self explanitory I think. :)

So there ya go. My little boy's name is official... well unless we change it before it's actually written on the birth certificate. I'm so excited to actually share his name with people. I love calling him his name already. For some reason it makes me feel so much more connected or something. I'm not sure exactly what it is but I love it. So I am now 23 weeks prego. Julian should be arriving in approximately 15 weeks. He has been moving around a lot more and it is still the weirdest feeling to me. I am definitely growing like CRAZY. My ankles were swollen for the first time on Friday. I just knew I wasn't going to be the pregnant one with the "kankles." I was on them alllllll day today and they seem to be fine so maybe it's nothing to freak out about yet at least. I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday so I'll have to tell him and see what he says. Ok well there is the baby update.

As for school... today was our first day. I have to say that it was a huge success. Besides not having time to do anything I had planned... but that happens every year. I didn't have anyone wet their pants and I had very minimal tears from a couple kiddos and so for that MY DAY WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!! I'm definitely exhausted and ready for another few weeks vacation :). Hopefully today was a sign of how the rest of the year will go... and that means pretty laid back and smoothe. I can pray at least!

Summer is OVER!

It is such a sad time of the year when I have to realize that my nice relaxing summer has finally come to an end. Summer has felt over for a while now being so busy trying to get a new house together and "trying" to get a new classroom organized (which is sooooo far from happening). I am working with such great people and at such a cool school. Everyone is so helpful and even though my room is still a disaster, I have nothing to complain about. For the first time in my career, I have more supplies than I could possibly dream of. I am worried I don't even know how to teach having all of the cool stuff to use. I am used to all my scrappy stuff that I have been boring this kids with for the past few years. I think it will be nice to finally get everything together and my life back in a routine. Getting my body used to the "no naps" routine is a bit of a struggle but I guess I am making it. I'm sure that "struggle" will only tripple when the kids actually arrive.

Baby update: I am 5 1/2 months now (22 weeks)... 16 weeks to go! I have been feeling him move a lot more lately. I keep touching my stomach to see if I can feel him from the outside but not yet. Everyday I just feel more and more excited to meet him. I am in the process of getting registered. I can't wait for my Dallas shower on Sept. 20th!! I am looking forward to seeing everyone.

Ok well I am sleepy and it's only 6:30. Maybe I will take a nap. Gotta go!

carpet! carpet! carpet!

So I was supposed to get my carpet LAST Wednesday. Well then it was rescheduled for THIS Wednesday. Well THEN.. we had a little hurricane blow through (aka: like 2-3 inches of rain) and I am FINALLY supposed to get the dang carpet tomorrow!!! GLORY!!! I had convinced myself that not being able to move up stairs at first was probably better for me so that I wouldn't work myself to death but after the first few days of having random boxes around with crap I can't take out yet is really getting to me. So to change it up a bit we went to work in my new classroom today. We were welcomed by tons of boxes and furniture that needed to find a place.. sound familiar??? errrrrr!! I'm geting so ready to be settled. In the mean time of all this craziness, I think I have grown a few inches. Some lady in Walmart asked me when my little boy was due. I must have looked at her like a crazy person. First I was relieved that it's unquestionable to people now that I am carrying a child in my belly and I am not just getting really odd shapped and fat. Second, I was confused as to who informed her I was having a boy. Then I just told her the due date and said good guess.. 50/50 chance! But why did I have to ask her "how did you know it was a boy?" because then she told me it was because my face was round. WAHT?! She could have just said because your face is fat and it would have been the same thing. But whatever that was weird. So the past couple days I have been feeling him move a lot more now. Sometimes it takes me a while to realize what's happening but when I actually pay attention it is the weirdest thing in the world. Another thing that is driving me crazy is my belly button iching! I guess it's not that bad but I don't want to scratch my belly in public and then it is miserable. Ok well I hope all is well! take care

I AM A HOMEOWNER!!

I finally closed on my new house. YAY!! It has been quite a stressfull little week waiting and planning on all sorts of different times and dates to close but it FINALLY happened today. My mom drove down today and bless her soul she had to drive the whole trip with no air conditioner and she had to go so slow because she was pulling a trailer and she didn't want her pickup to overheat. We pulled up to the new house for the first time at the same time. It didn't take my mom long to find a job to do and before I knew it, she had all the carpet and padding pulled off the floors and now we are ready to sanitize those things! Because the closing was rescheduled about 100 times, I had to reschedule the carpet installation as well so the new carpet will be here Wednesday. In the meantime I'm hoping that maybe we can think of a paint color for the nursery and maybe we can get that done while there is no carpet down. Seems like this would be the perfect time paint because I always seem to make a mess somehow.

Well that's about it. I'll have to post some pictures when I get things in and settled.
